I made a desk for a friend out of scrap pieces of wood a few weeks ago. I made one more for another friend who gave me an amazing piece of artwork she painted and had framed. I did a couple things different on this desk to keep it interesting and functional. The first is a slide out holding tray on the left side for a painting pallet. The other is that the drawer is made from a piece of steel, bent around solid walnut and poplar. The last thing I did different is the turned wood skids on the the bottom of the legs, one is mahogany and the other is alder. Now I just need to figure out how to ship this thing off to Alaska.

Isn't this awesome? Our cat thought so too, she stared at it for quite a while.
