The door slides on grooves to conceal storage on the left and a drawer on the right. I bought the brass finger pull at Lowe's.
The desk is made out of different scrap pieces of wood; teak (I saved for the top), oak, OSB, cherry and wenge. I made the legs out of steel rod that I bent and welded to flat bar, which bolt to the bottom of the cabinet. I turned a small piece of mahogany on the lathe and chopped it up into feet for the legs. I used a jig I made and a router to carve out the curved pull in the drawer.
I've got to make one more for another friend and I'll have to make it a little different since it's going to be shipped to Alaska. I'll have to make the legs collapsible.
