Birdcage light

I got this old birdcage about two years ago and decided I needed a light for the guestroom/den so I whipped up this light out of it yesterday after work.

I took the top off the cage and drilled the whole bigger for the lamp hook to attach to. Then, I attached a piece of aircraft cable to the lamp hook and an eye bolt to screw into the ceiling

I attached a twist key socket to the lamp hook. you can buy all of this stuff at Lowe's or home depot. I ran cloth covered wire up the aircraft cable, through the eye bolt, across the ceiling and down the wall to the socket below. I attached a male plug (again from Lowe's) to the end of the wire.
